Genealogical Use of
Wills and Probate Records

DACGS member, Bruce Pearson, will share with you how to find pertinent information about your family in wills and probates of estates which may add to what you have already learned in census records. Both kinds of records are "snapshots in time" -- the census records once every ten years, in the years ending in zero, and the will/probate records in the year the subject died. The wills/probate records will also yield information about family members which will not appear in the census records unless the subjects all live together in the same place.

The August 12th meeting of the Doña Ana County Genealogical Society will be conducted online remotely using the ZOOM application.

Without the ability to safely meet in person due to the Covid-19 situation, the August 12th DACGS meeting will be conducted digitally (over the internet) so we may safely observe from home.  Members will receive an invitation to join the meeting by email.

If you are not a DACGS member and would like to participate, please send an email, including your telephone number, no later than Monday, August 10, 2020, to:
dacgslc@gmail.com   with your request to attend the digital meeting.  Attendance is limited to 300.

The meeting will begin at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
