How to use FamilySearch to Locate Deeds and Wills in Unindexed Images
DACGS member Jeannie Kowalik will share how she found deeds and wills on FamilySearch in a group of images which have not yet been indexed. She has used this method to find probate records in Pennsylvania. It is a useful way to find out about property, relationships, and more about the life of one's ancestors. Other state/county images also appear on FamilySearch. Not all of the billions of records which FamilySearch has purchased are indexed. Indexing depends on whether the owner of the records allowed the filming and indexing of the records. Some are much easier to search than the recording system used by some Pennsylvania counties.
